Looking for work can be so heartbreaking. You interview for jobs that you know you will be awesome at, but unless someone sees through what my Mum calls "la-la-Ashley" (I'm not actually that la-la), then the opportunity ends as you're sat fidgeting in clothes that are either uncomfortable, or desperately trying to swallow the chewing gum that keep swirling to the front of your gob.
It seems that no matter what I do at home, I always feel completely bedraggled, am very aware of my clomping around marble tiles, and progressively get fatter and fatter as I pass worker after worker, clearly a lot thinner than myself. I go into the interview room feeling like Michelle McManus, pre The Hour, and looking like Su-Bo. No wonder the English think us Scot's are slightly mental.
In other news, I watched the London Marathon on Sunday, which proved to be slightly over-emotional. Granted I have been known to cry at adverts, but every time someone passed with a photo placed across their back of a dead relative, the lump in my throat got bigger and bigger. At one point I let out a hysteric gasp, but managed to disguise it as laughter. Obviously emotional, I came home, watched The Hotel, and cried (inside) uncontrollably as some guy proposed to his girlfriend. On that note, if I ever get engaged, I will become a wreck.
Walking around with no plans, and only Oxford Circus Topshop as a point of reference, it's no surprise that my internal sat-nav constantly leads me shopping; window of course. I have discovered a new found appreciation for H&M, been disappointed in Urban Outfitters, and been waiting patiently to use my 25% off voucher (thanks Marie Claire) at American Apparel. I have mentally bookmarked a sunny Marc by Marc Jacobs bag in Harrods, and noted a number of Miu Miu pieces that I will most certainly never afford anytime soon.
Hopefully I will have some exciting news to share soon, but until then, I suppose I better go enjoy this beautiful weather.
