As a Brit, I am so excited to introduce you ladies to something of an institution among the fashion-savvy back home. The best thing since Topshop invaded Broadway, ASOS.com is about to take over your mid-work shopping habits, so fill up your wallet and prepare for some celebrity-style shopping!
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
As Seen On Screen is your one-stop shopping destination for just about any trend you may think about buying into. Shearling? Check. Minimalism? Check. Designer wears? Yes, even them! The best thing about it though is that it allows you to shop per your most obsessive celebrity style crush. If you want to dress a laVictoria Beckham or suddenly feel like snagging Annalynne McCord’s style, then just search for your desired product of clothing and filter through with said celebrity clothes horse!
IS THAT IT?
Not at all, the site also has a magazine which you can whimsically click through, and shop at the same time! As an avid reader of anything with a glossy page and lots of pictures, I can honestly say this magazine does a really great job of showing us non-celebrity girls how to wear trends so we garner the right type of attention walking down the street. There is also a large beauty section to shop from and DIY tutorials so you can perfect a runway finish without looking like you’ve just had a fight with a drag queen.
MY OPINION?
I love, love, love ‘a-soss’! Since they have their own brand as well as favorites like AllSaints,Betsey Johnson and ChloĆ©, the website reaches all budgets. Also, because the U.S. site is a re-incarnation of the U.K. one, you can enjoy access to the British high-street from the comfort of your Soho loft (er, Bushwick shoebox). Check out Whistles for a grown-up, minimalistic take on fashion (I dare you not to want to buy everything!) and Motel for quirky prints and an undoubtedly ’80s take on today’s trends.
MY VERDICT?
Bookmark this site on your laptop and use it as not only your new online shopping haunt, but also for inspiration. Delivery comes from the UK so you may need to be patient for the time being, but the jealously on your girlfriends’ faces when your pieces arrive is well worth it.
