Anyway I digress. At 10PM we decided to go on the hunt for food/coffee/whatever and were drawn to the West by a shot of silvery light, set in the sky uncannily like Batman's signal (we are in Gotham City after all). So as two young souls with nothing better to do, we decided to follow the light and see where we found ourselves.
After a good half hour walk, Pineapple Fanta, and a cup of ice, we stumbled upon some cool kid party on Hudson Street. I wanted to press my face up against the wide, open windows. Rory dug his fingers into my shameless soul. We kept walking. I am sure there must have been some people of interest there because my Google research since we got back showed up no goings on in that area. Oooh er.
We walked through into Tribeca and realized why no gets murdered there...because there are no people there. It's a ghost town. I was super happy at this as we turned back and walked past the cool kids, again, in turn finding ourselves outside Skylight Studios (also on Hudson) where men were hard at work building the set for Ralph Lauren's Fashion Week show! How exciting!
We wondered what to do next. We failed to reach the Batman light, as we overhead some of the cool kids saying it was just for the helicopters...not as exciting as the gathering of fashion elite I had imagined finding at the end of it.
Rory then remembered that work outside the Chanel boutique on Soho was in full swing so we took a little gaunt over to see what was going on...In addition to the 10-foot acrylic perfume bottle in store, the windows were dressed in full yeti get up with what I can only describe as the most beautiful coat I have ever seen from across the pavement in my whole entire lifetime. Cream layers of lace fell delicately over fur boots, wooly socks, and possibly the most expensive pair of pants on the market. Giant video screens have been erected assumably for the opening and Fashion's Night Out on Friday.
The only drawback to our unexpected night was that we didn't have the camera. So I guess you'll just have to take my word for it...
